Reworked the native settings menu generation. These never stacked, and having multiple Flux Capacitors caused problems when unequipping them. Now when you go to install a Flux-Capacitor, it will uninstall any other Flux-Capacitors you have previously installed. Fixed the issue where you were able to install multiple Flux-Capacitors.Made it so that if an enemy is affected by Cyberware Malfunction, they will no longer move quickly during player time dilation.Reworked some GETMODInterface stuff (dynamically add external mods).Fixed an issue where the player's intelligence score was DECREASING the Scanning Mode Time Dilation recharge speed.Added a minimum recharge duration to the Scanning Time Dilation recharge (currently 1 second). Some minor under-the-hood bug fixes that weren't really impacting anything, but polluting the "tdo.log.". Controller users can now press D-Pad Left to turn Flux Capacitor on and off. Added a super secret button to turn on Flux Capacitor (not listed in the tooltip).Motorcycles should no longer rocket sideways when turning left (and in general the handling should be improved for all vehicles). Fixed the Flux Capacitor's turn assist.A setting of exactly 100% causes all sorts of weirdness! NOTE: This default change will not take effect if you have a previous config file, you'll need to go into the TDO mod menu and either click "Defaults" or manually move the Raven's ranged attack speed modifier to 105%. This fixes fire rate issues for numerous weapons (including the Carnage). Changed the default setting for the Raven Sandevistan from 100% to 105%.The new upper limit is 105%, which in testing hits the mechanical limit of the weapons to fire, without entering negative attacks per second territory.
Half of them, apparently, will be targeted at a young adult audience, with most of the episodes released on a weekly basis - Reilly argued that this allows for more cultural impact, “rather than fading quickly after a binge and burn.” He also noted the service will stream the 90’s classic “ Friends,” as well as “The Big Bang Theory,” for which it reportedly paid over $1 billion.Īs for originals, Reilly said the company plans to launch 31 Max Originals series (combined with HBO series, that makes for 69 original shows on HBO Max in its first year). “We’re all-in with DC and the associated brand-love that DC generates,” Reilly said. To illustrate that quality, he pointed to titles like “Sesame Street,” as well as the “Lord of the Rings” movies, “The Hobbit” movies, “The Matrix” trilogy and “The Conjuring” films, plus every Superman and Batman movie from the past 40 years. HBO Max Chief Content Officer Kevin Reilly made a similar point, noting that on average, half of the usage on subscription streaming services comes from the top 100 titles, so “quality over quantity” is important. and original content “appealing to all the younger demos.” Ten thousand hours sounds like a lot, but Greenblatt acknowledged it’s less than some competitors (presumably Netflix): “We actually think our value proposition improves when we narrow some of the options.” WarnerMedia’s entertainment and direct-to-consumer chairman Bob Greenblatt said HBO Max will have 10,000 hours of content at launch, including the HBO library, films from Warner Bros. Today’s presentation began with lots of commentary about all the corporate synergies between AT&T, WarnerMedia (which AT&T acquired last year) and the service’s namesake HBO. The company also revealed that HBO Max will be the exclusive streaming home of “South Park.” Plus, Elizabeth Banks, Issa Rae and Mindy Kaling are all developing new shows for the service - and “Arrow” and “Riverdale” producer Greg Berlanti announced that he’s working on the new DC Comics-related titles “Green Lantern” and “Strange Adventures.” Martin’s book of Westerosi history, “Fire and Blood “(perhaps explaining why a previously announced spin-off that was recently canceled). The announcement came at an event for investors and media, where HBO’s Casey Bloys also revealed that the network has greenlit a Game of Thrones spin-off called “House of the Dragon,” based on George R.R. WarnerMedia also says it will be free for HBO Now subscribers and for viewers who subscribe to HBO via AT&T. The service will cost $14.99 per month - the same price as HBO Now. AT&T and WarnerMedia just announced the pricing of their HBO Max streaming service, along with sharing more details about the timing and content lineup. On his YouTube channel RawKnee Games, with 3.5 million subscribers, Ronodeep Dasgupta specialises in remastered versions of Minecraft called “Minecraft, But…”. While some speedrunners seek to finish an entire game in record time, others look to achieve a certain goal within a game. No Indian has got onto a global leaderboard yet, so in India the stakes remain fairly high. It currently houses a database of nearly 3 million runs across over 28,000 games. The eventual aim is to get onto one of the global leaderboards. Then they start competing against themselves for reduced game times. So what exactly does a speedrunner do? Once they have remastered a game or identified the glitches they plan to exploit, they painstakingly play that version over and over, until some can actually play it blindfolded. “But his videos made us realise that we could do it too,” says 25-year-old Minecraft gamer Hitesh Khangta, whose YouTube gaming channel YesSmartyPie has over 3.6 million subscribers. He was then accused of cheating in-game, in order to sets his world record of playing a version of Minecraft from start to finish in 19 minutes and 24 seconds (the average time taken is 90 hours). The first celebrity speedrunner, Dream, first went viral on Twitch in 2020, amassing 29 million subscribers. In fact, speedrunning now offers live-streamers a novel new way to keep audiences hooked. It has become more broadly popular worldwide over the past two years, as bandwidth speeds and access to technology improve, and as YouTube and Twitch made it possible to earn a living off gaming. Speedrunning, incidentally, has been a niche interest in the West since the 1990s. ‘More than anything, you must be willing to lose a lot.’ ‘It takes a fair amount of humility to be a speedrunner,’ he says. Mumbai’s Ronodeep Dasgupta, 26, runs the YouTube channel RawKnee Games, with 3.5 million subscribers. Because of how different game play can look when it has been remastered in this manner, speedrunning has become a popular sub-genre on live-streaming platforms such as YouTube and Twitch. When a bug can’t be exploited, a speedrunner may alter the code to set his own challenges - playing with fewer lives, special handicaps, diminished arsenals. They might lose out on some of the fun of ancillary quests and group missions, but they often uncover surprising weaknesses in some of the most popular videogames (Minecraft, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Resident Evil Village, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and now Elden Ring), and have prompted game-makers to issue updates and fix bugs. They have two aims: to break a game down, deconstruct or rebuild it so they can play it on their own terms and then to finish that version of the videogame in the fastest time possible. Some 44% of respondents believe that oil prices are failing to reflect the realities of supply and demand, a disconnect recently identified by Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman. The kingdom and its partners are likely to either hold production steady or cut rather than increase it over the next six months, according to the survey. The alliance demonstrated its readiness to intervene by announcing a symbolic production cutback earlier this month. Even if a global economic slowdown causes oil prices to falter, they see another line of defense in the OPEC+ producers’ cartel led by Saudi Arabia. Norwegian energy company Equinor ASA warned that margin calls of at least $1.5 trillion are straining energy trading and pushing governments to provide greater liquidity buffers. About 46% expect energy crisis to accelerate the pace of green power generation.Įnergy price volatility is itself posing a risk to the financial system, with the rising prices forcing utilities to put up more collateral for fuel-delivery contracts purchased with loans. Most respondents expect oil prices to remain between $70 and this year’s peak of $139, with only 10% seeing crude surging above that level. In the oil market, there are already signs of demand destruction taking place, with crude prices retreating about 25% over the past three months. Demand in China, the world’s second-biggest consumer, remains overshadowed by the property crisis and virus restrictions. Nonetheless, bullish investors may have their nerves tested in the months ahead as the inflationary wave batters the global economy. The “global shortage of gas, hesitancy about new investment in new gas production” and the EU’s “political decision to phase out its dependence on Russian gas altogether” are driving the tightness. “The European gas market is likely to remain tight throughout the 2020s,” said Katja Yafimava, a senior research fellow at Oxford Institute for Energy Studies. Economists increasingly predict a Euro-area recession in the coming quarters as the rising cost of living saps demand, undermining the pandemic rebound. could top 22% next year if natural-gas prices remain elevated. Goldman Sachs has warned that inflation in the U.K. The surge in energy prices has hit major economies with a brutal wave of inflation, which has reached record levels in the Euro-area and the hottest pace in almost four decades in the U.S. While junk-rated energy bonds are expensive when compared with the global index, the US energy debt rated at investment grade BBB is relatively attractive, trading at a higher spread than the average of its peers by rating and duration. Yet, they remain significantly cheaper than their S&P 500 peers, based on their prices relative to the earnings they’re expected to report in the year ahead. They see electricity and natural gas prices driving global inflation and expect that Russia will choke off flows of natural gas to Europe, leading to shortages of key fuels this winter.Įnergy stocks are one of the rare bright spots in the world’s equity markets, with an index of energy companies in the S&P 500 rallying more than 40% so far this year as profits surged along with oil and gas prices. Two-thirds of respondents to an MLIV Pulse survey, which includes portfolio managers and retail investors, plan to increase exposure to the sector over the next six months. Energy stocks and bonds are poised to get a fresh boost from investors positioning to benefit from the surging electricity prices and fuel shortages expected later this year. You could, for example, ban all USB drives, but allow exceptions for specific drives or users. It puts you in control of a wide variety of device types, including card readers, imaging devices, and Bluetooth devices, as well as more traditional external drives. Luckily, ESET’s non-ransomware-specific antivirus components eliminated all these samples when I allowed them to act.ĭevice Control in ESET is probably better suited to a business setting than the home. ESET detected the remaining two as ransomware, but one managed to encrypt 4,000 files before ESET took it down. Regular detection of in-memory malware caught another four. Out of 10 samples, four merrily encrypted my files with no complaint from ESET. To see ransomware protection in action, I turned off the real-time antivirus component and released a gaggle of real-world malware samples. Ransomware protection has been beefed up in the latest edition, according to ESET. No exploits breached security, as the test system was fully patched. When I hit it with real exploits generated by the CORE Impact (Opens in a new window) penetration testing tool, ESET actively blocked 34%, which is down from 52% in my previous test. The online dashboard is also the spot to manage the parental control and anti-theft components discussed below as well as the password manager introduced in the top-tier suite.ĮSET's Host Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS) aims to prevent attacks that exploit vulnerabilities in your operating system or applications. There’s no remote configuration control like what you get with Sophos, Webroot, and a few others. You can get details on any problems, but to do anything about those issues you must go to the affected computer. Shifting to the devices view, you can quickly see if any of your devices have security issues. In addition to its unusual UEFI firmware scan, the custom scan option offers a scan of the system Registry and the WMI databases, in each case seeking malware disguised as data and links to infected files. Tested by all four, Kaspersky comes in at an impressive 9.9 points.ĮSET eschews the quick scan offered by many competitors, but its full scan finished in just under a half-hour, quite a bit better than the current average of 66 minutes. Also tested by three labs, AVG currently holds a perfect 10 points and Bitdefender rates 9.9. ESET’s 9.4 point aggregate score is good, but others do even better. Avast, AVG, BitDefender, and McAfee took Advanced+ in all three.įor comparison purposes I use an algorithm that maps all the tests to a 10-point scale and derives an aggregate lab score. Of the three tests I track, ESET earns one apiece of Standard, Advanced, and Advanced+. Rather than using a numeric scale, the testers at AV-Comparatives (Opens in a new window) certify products as Advanced+, Advanced, or Standard, depending on how well they perform. Like 80% of products in the latest test, ESET earned a perfect 18 of 18 possible points. Reports from AV-Test Institute (Opens in a new window) rate products on Protection, Performance, and Usability, with six points possible for each. For example, a three-license subscription runs to $69.99, about $10 less than the three-license price for Trend Micro Internet Security, Bitdefender, and Kaspersky. Additional licenses, up to a total of 10, add $10 per year to the subscription price. How Much Does ESET Internet Security Cost?Ī one-license subscription to this suite costs $49.99 per year. It packs in a lot of features, some of them top quality, others not quite up to that standard. In addition to the expected firewall, spam filter, and parental control features, ESET Internet Security also brings you webcam security, online banking protection, and a home network analyzer, as well as protection for your macOS and Android devices. ESET Internet Security occupies the middle slot in this model, and upgrading from the antivirus gets you quite a lot. The trick is to balance the features at each level so that the user gets significant benefits at each upgrade. Most security companies offer protection at three levels: basic antivirus, entry-level security suite, and feature-rich security mega-suite.
